Hello, I'm PvE!

Entrepreneurial Mind. Pilates Body. Artist's Soul.

I’m the artist behind PvE Design. I started using my signature on my artwork as my MO, and now people say, "So, you're PvE!" Patricia is my first name, and I love to create joyful, chic art that tells stories through an economy of line and color, work that feels playful, elevated, and full of heart. My goal is simple: to make people happy and connected to their creative best self.

My process begins with curiosity and intention. Sometimes it starts with a place, a feeling, or a small moment that deserves to be remembered. I work with simplicity and softness, allowing each line and color to carry meaning without excess. This approach creates space for imagination, inviting the viewer to connect their own story to the work and live with it in a personal, artful way.

PvE Design is rooted in the idea of living artfully, staying connected to movement, creativity, and inner effervescence. Whether you’re collecting a piece of art, joining a Pilates session, or stepping into a creative practice, my hope is that PvE feels like a return to joy. A gentle reminder to trust the process, embrace your inner child, and create a life that feels both elevated and full of heart.

Beyond the canvas, I am a Sister, Wife, Mom, Grandmother, Mentor and Giver.

Live Artfully

To me, living artfully means staying connected to curiosity, movement, and inner effervescence. It’s about embracing your inner child, the part of you that sees beauty everywhere, and giving yourself permission to create and move with luxury in everyday life.

Whether you collect a piece of art, join a live event, or step into a creative practice, I want your PvE experience to feel like a return to joy.

Student Stories

For a period of time between high school and college I had the privilege of being an intern for Patricia van Essche. I was worried about going to college, especially since I was going into Illustration. The arts didn’t seem appreciated on a professional level by most adults I’d known up until then, so I lacked confidence when I was about to be entering the college/adult world. I began my internship in Patricia’s beautiful studio, and we wasted no time. Patricia focused on helping me develop my personal style by introducing me to different mediums such as gauche and oil paint. It was an approach of learning about myself through my art with guidance. Patricia told me about her life and her past as an art student trying to make her way through the world, and her journey to an entrepreneurial way of life. It gave me encouragement to make my own way, and to be at peace with times of self discovery and experimentation. She took me to see inspiring working artists, and to important local and historical landmarks for inspiration or to learn about local art history. Learning small habits like :setting up my area before doing any project, and learning to relax, and be patient when working helped me to feel more in control of my art. Now that I’m in college I can attest to Patricia’s knowledge of what it takes to be an artist in the modern world. I wouldn’t have the confidence I do now studying illustration without the experience from a knowledgeable working artist like Patricia.
